Supply Chain Category Lead - Overview
The Supply Chain Category Lead is responsible for leading the procurement and supply chain management of a portfolio of categories with the objective of delivering value through engaging stakeholders, rationalising and aggregating requirements, optimising the supply chain and ensuring high performance is delivered through the supply chain.
The Supply Chain Category Lead is accountable for ensuring that the supply chain delivers the products and services needed to deliver operational objectives to meet production goals safely on the best commercial and contractual terms that improve profitability of the organisation.

Supply Chain Category Lead - The Role
The role holder is responsible for engaging with stakeholders, developing category strategies, working with internal stakeholders to develop detailed requirements, managing commercial tenders, negotiating contract terms and pricing, implementing change and ensuring contracts / suppliers managed to continuously deliver value.
The role supports an operating gas field and gas processing terminal. The Supply Chain organisation has a critical role to play to ensure the supply chain supports the operational and business growth targets. Compliance with legislation and company regulations, health and safety, quality and high are of paramount importance.
The role involves negotiating and managing contracts to the value of GBP £20 Million
Supply Chain Category Lead - The Person
Chartered membership of Institute of Purchasing and Supply (Desirable).
Degree / HND Business Studies, Law, Project Management, Procurement or equivalent in an appropriate subject (Essential)
Able to establish effective relationships with stakeholders and internal customers (Essential)
Experience of successfully delivering major change and benefits (Essential)
Project / Programme management skills (Desirable)
Strong knowledge of contract law and experience of negotiating contract terms (Essential)
Demonstrable experience of Procurement of goods and services (with a large organisation, spend circa £15m plus) (Essential)
Experience in a Procurement role within the offshore oil and gas industry. (Desirable)
Microsoft Office software packages. (Essential)
Knowledge of SAP Business systems.(Desirable)
Strong analytical / financial skills. (Essential)
Good communicator both orally and written. (Essential)
Strong negotiation / influencing skills. (Essential)
Strong team player with the ability to work successfully across boundaries. (Essential)
Able to establish effective relationships with suppliers and ensure communications from suppliers and potential suppliers will be addressed promptly and courteously in order to support and enhance the Centrica Energy corporate image. (Essential)
Ability to respond to a changing business environment. (Essential)
